Responding to the narrow gate passage of the Sermon on the Mount. I'm struck by just how narrow the path to follow Him really is. This now sits next to my keyboard.

This is in response to Matthew 5:12. I am bewildered at times by persecution, but Jesus says here to rejoice and be glad. Lord, help me rejoice!

The really fun part of the study is that Sandra and the gals at Soul Per Suit have created a companion study using small-scale art projects. You can see the studies here.
The girls and I responded to what we read by creating wee little art projects on playing cards. You'll see my artwork above. Responding to Scripture by creating something is one of the most amazing ways I've learned to connect with Jesus. I strongly encourage you to take a look at the Soul Per Suit galleries and be inspired. I promise you, your devotional life will be changed.

I have Mocha on the Mount. It is good, indeed.
Mary,
I love both of your cards here, oddly because of the lettering on both.
Your top one's jumbled letters for "narrow" reminds me of how squished and tangled I often feel trying to walk on the narrow path. So many things are in my world that don't belong on the path called, Narrow, that they trip my feet and make me stumble. Trying to step around them, or kick them completely off the narrow path so I can keep walking on toward Jesus is a constant focus.
And I plain old love your handwriting on the second card. :) You got a great eye for design.
Praying for you and your passel of girls to drink deeply from the Word together. (And quite honored that SPS can be a part of it.)
Wow. What great visuals. Your cards sure do make Matthew more memorable.
Mary,
I get so excited anytime I meet someone who has a passion for teens like I do! I have two small groups for girls - one is 6 6th graders and one is 8th graders. I have recently joined Proverbs 31 and am helping them to develop a program to give assistance to other woman who want to invest in teens, but just don't know how to get started.
From one kindred heart to another,
Lynn
