Me pregnant. Boy was I sick . . . all nine months.
On Christmas Eve (late that night). After this, they put a santa hat on Sophie who weighed six pounds eleven ounces. They presented her in a stocking. She still has it.
Here she is at four months old.The irony of Mary being in labor on Christmas Eve was interesting. Too bad Patrick's name isn't Joseph--it would've made an interesting story! We celebrated Christmas in Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton, Washington, happy to be first time parents. When we brought her home, we worried. We had barely changed a diaper before. I kept thinking she would die.
But she didn't! And now she's beautiful, intelligent, kindhearted and hilarious. Sophie was the best Christmas Eve present I've ever received!

When my cousin Chris was born in 1954 at Easter time they put all the newborns in bunny hats with rabbit ears. In my "little girl" mind that was the most awesome thing.
Mary, she is beautiful and is the image of you. Isn't it fun to remember those precious moments?
My nephew's wife just delivered a baby boy at 1:27 AM on Christmas Eve. Joy of joys.
What a great story! Is Sophie your twin or what? Talk about mirror smiles.
She looks just like you! What a blessing to have her born then!
Children are indeed a blessing from the Lord--best wishes for a wonderful Christmas (and birthday) celebration for you and your family.
God loves us all and His love is absolute--perfect, complete, and real!
I had my first on Christmas Eve too! Elizabeth Christine was born 14 years ago today. You are right, it was the greatest Christmas present! My water broke at 4am and I had her at 6pm - she is so worth the 12 hours of labor!!
Oh, Mary, what precious memories, and what a beautiful daughter! She is just lovely. You must be so proud of her.
Awww, congratulations! Blessings on such a sweet time!
Sophie is beautiful!
I'm part of the Christmas Eve Mom Club, too. My son turned 21 this Christmas Eve.
Loved your post.
